Incoming Freshmen!!

This is a copy of the email letter sent out by Mr. Gist this week. The 5-page letter can be found on the HHS Band Documents page of this website.

Hello, one last time, HMS Band Parents & Kiddos!

Before rolling our now 9th graders into the HHS Band database, I'm sending out one more email for Mr. Gist. This is a long letter/attachment, but it does contain a tremendous amount of information regarding the high school band program, dates, supplies needed, etc. If your child is not continuing into the HHS Band program, please forgive this extra email. For everyone else, I hope this is the information that many of you have been looking for. I will post this letter on the huttoband.com site, but on the HHS Band Documents page for your convenience. Please share this information with our families who do not have regular email access so that they will have access to this as well.
Kids, it was an honor to have you in our band program at HMS, and I feel privileged to have worked with you and for you these past 3 years. I know you will tremendously enjoy the new challenges and freedoms that await you in this next chapter. Mr. Acuff and I are proud of each and every single one of you, and we look forward to seeing and hearing about all the wonderful things you will accomplish in your high school careers. Let us know if we can ever help you in any way.
Sincerely,
Mrs. C.

Students and Parents,

I want to welcome you to the High School Band.  We are very excited that you are going to be a part of our program.  If you are thinking that you do not want to be in High School Band, I would ask that you come to summer band practice and try it until the very first football game onAugust 29.  If you still do not like it, then I will gladly allow you to take another class and not give you a hard time about it.  If you are not in High School Band this next year and decide by the end of your freshman year that you have made a mistake, come and talk to me in the spring and we will get you back in the band class.  You will not be able to join at the semester in January - you will have to wait until the next school year to get back in.  Try it, you might like it (what have you got to lose!!!).

I am attaching the Summer Band Letter with calendar dates, fundraising, and trip information.  The letter is very lengthy, but has a lot of information included in it.  Please take time to read it and post the calendar on your refrigerator.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at stacy.gist@hutto.txed.net.  If you have trouble opening the attachment let me know a.s.a.p. so I can send it out as a different attachment format.

Have a great summer and see you in late July.

Sincerely,

Stacy Gist,

Hutto High School Band
