Week of October 12th to October 17th, 2009

Happy Monday! This is perhaps our busiest week so far this year, with UIL Region Marching Contest this Saturday! We have lots of cleaning and polishing to do on the footwork and the music, so please be ON TIME to rehearsals, and prepared!

Here's a quick overview of this week:

Monday: No morning rehearsal. We instead have practice this evening from 4-5:30 p.m. Please make sure that you are there ON TIME! With a strong chance of rain tomorrow night, we need to get as much done as possible! Please wear a white shirt of some kind, and bring your water bottle!

Tuesday: Morning practice, 8:00 a.m. Please bring your water bottle and BE ON TIME! We DO have practice this evening, from 6-8:30 p.m. We have a guest, Beth Bronk from Texas Lutheran University, coming to rehearse/clinic you! BE ON TIME, BE PREPARED, AND BE OPEN TO NEW IDEAS!

Wednesday: Morning practice, 7:30 a.m.!!!!!! Please note the change in time! We have several students taking the PSAT this morning, so we MUST start early! Please be on time, and bring your water bottle!

Thursday: Morning practice, 8:00 a.m. Bring your water bottle and BE ON TIME!!!

Friday: GAME DAY!!!! Morning practice, 8:00 a.m. Bring your water bottle and be on time! Tonight's game is in Marble Falls. We will be leaving shortly before 5:00 p.m., and you will be fed prior to leaving! We will take our food on the bus with us! You must have the following:

• band shoes
• black socks
• band hat
• band bandanna
• band uniform jacket
• band uniform pants
• band polo shirt
• flip folder with ALL music
• your instrument
• a black, white or orange jacket, if it is cold
• water bottle

We will return at approximately 12:15 a.m. Please make sure your parents are there to take you home so you can sleep and rest prior to tomorrow's contest!

Saturday: CONTEST DAY!!! You need to be at the band hall at 4:30 p.m. in your band shirt and under-uniform shorts.We will do a short march-through of the show, then begin packing to go. We are leaving at 5:50 p.m. Our warm-up time is 7:20 p.m. and our performance time is 8:00 p.m. We will stay for the ratings announcement at 8:45 p.m., then we'll head to Gattiland for some pizza and fun at 9:15 p.m. We should return home by 10:30 p.m. Please have your parents ready to pick you up!!!

 You need the following for contest:

• band shoes
• black socks
• band hat
• band bandanna
• band uniform jacket
• band uniform pants
• band polo shirt
• your instrument
• a black, white, or orange jacket to wear in the stands if it is cold
• water bottle (leave on bus)
• ANYONE (BOYS AND GIRLS) WITH LONG HAIR NEED TO HAVE IT PINNED UP/BACK!!!! THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE!
