The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is the state office that governs public schools. TEA works side by side with the UIL to determine policies regarding all kinds of aspects of education in Texas.

Oversees most extracurricular activities in the state of Texas. UIL governs our Region 18 Marching, Concert, and Sightreading Contests, as well as Solo and Ensemble at the high school level.

ATSSB governs the 1A, 2A, and 3A All-State audition processes, as well as the All-Region process for middle schools that feed small schools. ATSSB also oversees the Outstanding Performance Series (OPS) competition each year.

Composed of music educators, advocates, and administrators throughout the state of Texas. TMEA sponsors the state Honor Band competition, as well as the 4A and 5A All-State audition processes.
